March Memories

I would like to sum up my March through Instagram as I did no actual posts in March.
There really is no excuse for that other than I have been to lazy to upload and edit all my photos!

So what did I do in the month of March?
Take a look....

I made a fresh spring wreath for my front door.

Bought a Pier 1 chair for my living room.

Had a western themed girl's night.
I even made my own saloon doors for guests to enter through!

Bought a new car...2012 Ford Escape. Now I just need a name for it!
It was mandatory that it had a moon roof!

Made a list of what I am 'lucky' to have in my life...

Celebrated St. Patricks Day...

Saw Jake Owen in concert at the Houston Rodeo.

 Planted flowers in my garden...

Found my lizard friend chilling on my Oleander bushes...

Planted a little succulent garden in my half bathroom...

Surprised a best friend with an I Love Lucy/50's housewife themed birthday dinner!

We surprised her with a scene right out of I Love Lucy...grape stomping!

Hung out with my sis at Schlitterbaun Water Park for the day and ate funnel cake!
Yum! (Don't judge)

All in all even thought it was a busy month, it was a fun month!
(More photos from the themed parties will come later!)

Style Me Spring!

I don't know about you, but I am ready for Spring!
Here in Texas, spring comes early, and it is right around the corner if not happening now!
I thought I would show you a few of the Spring 2013 looks that are catching my eye:

Chad Ralph Rucci - Spring 2013

Isabel Marant - Spring 2013

Issa - Spring 2013 Ready to Wear

J. Mendel - Spring 2013 Ready to Wear

 Monique Lhuillier - Spring 2013

Nicholas K - Spring 2013

And then you have Oscar de la Renta, who I could in no way choose just one favorite!

I am so in love with this Oscar de la Renta look!

There seems to be a lot of couture ruffles, boxy oversize cuts, sheer fabric, alpha females, and eastern influence going on this Spring.  As you can see I am more into the feminine silhouettes and colors.  I have a hard time when fashion goes in an edgy, hard, or futuristic path because it is not my personal style at all.  I definitely cling to a more earthy, whimsical influence.
What are you gravitating to for the upcoming Spring?

Wishful Musings: Louis Vuitton

I love the photo shoot for Louis Vuitton's Cruise 2012 catalogue taken by Mark Segal. The model is Arizona Muse and she looks so fresh and lovely in these photos! It makes me yearn even more for Spring!

This last photo is my favorite! It is so carefree! It embodies how I feel about Springtime!

Enjoy!

Pink and Aqua Delights

Yesterday was not a good day for me.  I was checking my emails and clicked on a video link of a dog who missed their owner. Well that led into looking at videos of soldiers returning home to the ecstatic joy of their dogs. It made me think of how our dogs will respond to Justin's return in 4 months.  Already they are showing signs of depression.  When I got home from work my dog, Zena, was hiding in my closet behind my clothes, and it took me forever to find her. This is a dog that normally runs to the door to great you wholeheartedly!  I think my spirits were about as low as hers.
I had plans to go out with the girls that evening, but between being sick with a cold, tired, and depressed I decided to take it easy on the couch in front of my fireplace and watch reruns of New Girl with my mother-in-law.  We had a good time just relaxing in our pj's with a glass of wine.

Well I decided I could use some cheering up (and now that this post feels so depressing I bet you are in need of cheering up too!)
So here are some delightfully lovely photos that put me in the mood for spring and lift my spirits!

I have never decorated in this shabby chic worn turquoise and pale pink style before, but I am finding a new love for this look! It is so soft and dreamy! I think if I ever had a paint studio I would consider doing it in this look!
